Value Statement 

Assessment of basic skills is an essential part of student success, to guide enrollment in appropriate courses.

 Administrative Rule

Unless otherwise exempt or waived, each student who enters ACC must demonstrate fulfillment of the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) requirements.

A student can demonstrate successful completion of the TSI requirement by achieving an acceptable score on the reading, writing and mathematics sections of the state approved assessment test.

A student can demonstrate successful completion of the developmental program at any time by passing that section of the state approved assessment test for which previous test results indicated that developmental education was necessary. 

A student who successfully completes the developmental sequence will have demonstrated fulfillment of the TSI requirements and will have met college readiness requirements.

A student with an Associate degree or higher from accredited Texas public, private or independent institution or an accredited out-of-state public, private, or independent institution will be considered complete in compliance with TSI requirements.
